OBITUARY

Matthew Warren Hoak, 57, of Inverness FL passed away suddenly on December 5th 2024. Matt was born on September 29, 1967 to Carol Dickman and Kenneth Hoak in Ohio.

He was dubbed the nickname “brown egg” from his mother, who saw early in life just how special, unique and close with nature he was. Matt graduated from high school and went on to study Technology and Software at DeVry Institute. After graduating from college, he started his very successful career as a senior business analyst and sales director, where he made lifelong friendships and a work family he treasured for over the next 30 years. He had career that allowed him to travel extensively and relished every opportunity to submerge himself into the culture and history across the globe.

Matthew enjoyed any spare time he had out on the water, fishing. The memories and experiences he held dear from growing up, were then shared, taught and made anew, with a boat on the water and a bass on the line with those he cared about. If he wasn’t fishing, you’d find him at his other happy place- a NASCAR race. Camping, grilling and soaking in the sound of the track.

Matt frequently said his greatest
accomplishment, his pride and joy, were his 2 children, Courtney (Andrew) Heath and Lindsay (Ryan) Lumpford and 5 grandchildren, Maizey, William, Nolan, Grayson, and Dawson.
He lived for them and loved them unconditionally.

Matt also truly treasured his time and relationships built during coaching soccer. He had started coaching to spend even more time with his daughter and acquired an entire family along the way. Many would say he was the best coach they’ve ever had.

Matthew was a “Mr. Fix it” who took on every project. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t make, fix or do & he would do it for anyone and everyone. Matt was revered for helping others and would never turn away a stranger in need. One of the best neighbors you could ever have. He’d always have a wise word of advice, a lesson, or a corny joke for anyone he encountered.

He lived by a code of • Honor • Honesty • Respect • Matt was full of empathy and compassion. A man of his word. A man of God. He will be truly missed.

Matt was predeceased by his father and stepmother Kenneth (Carol) Hoak. His two stepfathers John Rosenberger and Donald "Skip" Dickman. He is survived by his mother Carol Dickman, his brother Doug (Kathy) Hoak, his daughters Courtney (Andrew) Heath and Lindsay (Ryan) Lumpford and 5 grandchildren, Maizey, William, Nolan, Grayson, and Dawson.

Cremation arrangements are with Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory, Inverness, FL.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 18th, from 1-4pm at Marriott Eagle Crest, 1275 S. Huron St. Ypsilanti MI 48197 in his honor.
